It looks like the problem surfaced after a recent maintenance update. Some say that the game plays the intro music but there is no image on the screen which is followed by a crash to desktop. That being said, Call of Duty Vanguard players are now reporting ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) that the game is crashing at the menu title while others say that they are stuck at a black screen. And while the developers are trying their best to fix these issues, new problems do surface every now and then.
